hereafter : /hirˈaftər/ an existence beyond earthly life

​

​

hereafter is a collaborative original work, drawing inspiration from ancient Egyptian beliefs about death, the afterlife, and the journey of the soul, as presented by LASM's stunning exhibits of Egyptian artifacts. The performance is symbolic of the soul’s passage from life to death, passing through challenges, differentiating between right and wrong, and ultimately finding peace and rebirth in the afterlife.

The performance of hereafter is a preview of Conduit: The Beginnings which will close out OMC's 2024-25 season. Conduit will explore the dynamic between the fragility and strength of relationships, demonstrating how people, through shared experiences, become conduits for the energy, support, and growth of one another.

hereafter and Conduit are deeply interconnected, both exploring themes of transition, connection, and transformation, albeit from different angles.
